Outstanding pictures deserve an equally impressive sound. With the Remote Audio Control Room – RACR, VIDI offers a powerful solution for modern TV, live and event productions in Dolby Atmos/3D audio, surround and stereo.
The RACR enables high-quality immersive audio productions independently of the venue. Mixing takes place under optimal acoustic conditions in the studio, while the audio signals are transmitted securely and reliably from the production site to the broadcast centre.
The result is a more intense, more emotional viewing experience – combined with efficient and flexibly scalable production workflows.

The audio and monitoring signals are transmitted from the production site to Darmstadt and mixed there under precisely controlled acoustic conditions. This allows the sound engineers to concentrate fully on what really matters: perfect sound.

When distance no longer matters
The live transmission of Richard Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” in 2024 demonstrated just how powerful and flexible the system is.
The audio signals were transmitted from the Bayreuth Festival Theatre to the VIDI RACR in Darmstadt over a regular internet connection. There, a high-quality Dolby Atmos mix was created under professional studio conditions – reliably, stably and without compromising on quality.

With Richard Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde”, conducted by Semyon Bychkov, a major classical stage work was mixed live in Dolby Atmos in the VIDI RACR for the first time.
Connected directly to the famous Bayreuth Festival Hill, the production received its final acoustic polish in Darmstadt. The renowned sound engineers Peter Hecker and Harald Gericke created an immersive sound world that made the emotional power of the work directly tangible.
With three mobile stage boxes, the VIDI RACR can be used flexibly for a wide range of production sizes and venues. Additional AES67-based audio stage boxes can be integrated at any time to expand the number of available audio signals as required.
