For more than 40 years, VIDI GmbH has stood for reliable technology and network solutions in the international broadcast and telecommunications sector. As an independent, owner-managed company based in Darmstadt, Germany, we design, plan and operate complex networks for the worldwide transmission of broadcast signals and live events.

Our ambition goes far beyond simply moving signals from A to B: we create intelligent connections that carry ideas, content and communication to their destination securely and efficiently. From technical consulting, project planning and system design through to operation, control and comprehensive services, we support our customers end to end – flexibly, reliably and from a single source.

Across our business units – VIDI Systems, VIDI Events and VIDI NMS – we combine decades of experience, innovative technology and tailor-made solutions for the most demanding requirements in the broadcast and telecommunications market.

VIDI Service

We’re there, wherever our customers are.

Whether at major events in the IBC in Doha or Denver, at winter sports in Norway or on site at our customers’ outside broadcasts – our service colleagues are there. Alongside our technical team in Darmstadt, colleagues in Cologne and Berlin ensure short travel distances and fast response times. In addition, we maintain a network of partner companies and freelancers spread across Germany.

Naturally, every service technician working on our behalf has sound technical training, the necessary tools and spare parts, and is specifically trained on the technology we deploy. They are also supported 24/7 by the VIDI NOC and by VIDI’s on-call service.

VIDI NOC

Network Operations Center

VIDI NOC – the heart of it all!

The VIDI “Network Operations Center” (NOC) in Darmstadt is the operational hub for all of VIDI’s activities and a key building block of VIDI’s high service quality.

VIDI operates its own NOC, from which all VIDI services are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our customers can reach the VIDI NOC at any time. The NOC monitors and manages VIDI’s own services and networks for all of the VIDI performance centers mentioned above and acts as a first-line service for partner companies.

At several workstations, our NOC staff have access to customers’ networks and services. From here, they stay in constant contact with customers as well as with upstream suppliers and carriers. A range of tools is available for logging and processing tickets, and the VIDI NOC has direct access to the ticketing systems of our most important suppliers and customers.

As a partner of selected manufacturers, VIDI also supplies a range of hardware products and services to customers in the German-speaking market. Our services include technical consulting and planning, on request also installation and integration into existing customer systems, as well as German-language support and service in the event of a fault.

Hitomi

Hitomi specializes in precise synchronization and latency measurement for broadcast production and professional AV environments. The MatchBox measures latency, lip-sync and audio coherence in both software-based workflows and traditional hardware infrastructures.

An app that simulates the classic clapperboard on a smartphone or tablet, together with a GV-AMPP integration, rounds out the Hitomi product range.

As Hitomi’s distribution partner for the German-speaking region, we advise on selecting the right hardware and ship the equipment from our location in Darmstadt. In Darmstadt we keep a range of loan units for testing or demos, and in the event of a fault we provide service, replacement units and spare parts.
